Data deletion

Revoke access and remove stored data.

The connected account owner can stop future access immediately and request deletion of previously collected platform data.

Effective September 2, 2026

1. Revoke Instagram access

  1. Open Instagram and go to Settings and activity.
  2. Open Website permissions, then Apps and websites.
  3. Select the BBTL Metrics application and choose Remove.

This prevents the application from making new Instagram API requests.

2. Remove the local connection

In BBTL Performance Studio, open Sync setup and disconnect Instagram. This removes the locally stored access and refresh tokens.

3. Request deletion of collected records

Send a direct message to @boysbythelake containing the phrase “BBTL Metrics data deletion.” Include the username of the connected account. The operator will remove locally stored API-derived records associated with that account and confirm completion within 30 days.

What deletion covers

Deletion covers stored profile data, content metadata, performance observations, comments, replies, connection metadata, and OAuth tokens associated with the requested account. It does not delete content or comments from Instagram itself.
